SUMMER 2020 July 6th-July 31st

Summer Institute begins July 6, 2020. We hope to have a full summer program.

SMARTS Collaborative is vigilantly monitoring the situation with the coronavirus (COVID-19) to ensure that the SMARTS Summer Institute is prepared for whatever steps we may need to take. The safety and well-being of our communities remains our top priority and we will keep this page updated with information on any potential scenarios that may impact the SMARTS Summer Institute and its operation.

Started in 1986, the SMARTS Summer Institute offers arts interested and talented students grades K-12, an opportunity to focus intensively on the arts and creativity and work under the guidance of working artists and arts educators. The SMARTS experience is about the creative process, imagination and dynamic opportunities to discover your own vision and voice. At SMARTS learning is fun, joyous and inspired.

Teen Ensemble grades 9-12.

Teen Ensemble is a performance group for young people grades 9-12. Students will work as a team to create a weekly 45 minute presentation using a variety of techniques– brainstorming, writing, improvisation, games, movement, music, text, visual mediums, voice, sound, and more– to create adapted and original performance material.

The health and safety of our students and staff has always been number one priority at SMARTS.  We will provide a clean and safe environment with a strict illness policy in place and with cleaning supplies, and antibacterial wipes in each classroom.
