Creativity and action! Saturday SMARTS is a new initiative to get kids moving and bring arts activities to children during the school year. Our first Saturday SMARTS will hold two consecutive classes. Children will get one hour of each class.
Class 1: Stage Combat and Comedy with Rachel Beauregard
Get ready to laugh, play, and learn the art of theatrical “fighting”! Students will explore the basics of stage combat through safe, carefully choreographed movement while developing characters, comedic timing, and storytelling skills. Students will practice fun theatrical techniques, silly scenarios, and playful scenes in a supportive environment. All stage combat is pretend and highly supervised. Students should not practice stage combat moves outside of class.
Class 2: Bucket Beats Percussion with Seth Antonitits
Unleash your rhythm and creativity! Perfect for students who love music and want
to explore the fun and dynamic world of drumming. No prior drumming experience is needed! Just bring your enthusiasm and a sense of adventure! Join us for a high energy, creative outlet where your child can develop their musical skills and have a blast making music!

Meet The Teaching Artists
Rachel Beaureguard
Rachel Beth Beauregard is a local performer and educator who was most recently seen directing at Beacon Charter High School for the Arts in Woonsocket, and onstage in an original comedy/stage combat show with her partner titled Grievance By Proxy at King Richard’s Faire in Carver, MA and the Scarborough Renaissance Festival in Waxahachie, TX. She is also a founding member of Homebrewed Theatre Company; an Attleboro-based group producing original works that explore the human condition with comedy and heart. Rachel holds a BA in Musical Theatre from Dean College and a Masters in Theatre Education from Emerson College.
Seth
Antonitis
Seth has been assisting and teaching percussion at SMARTS for 22 years. He began drumming 25 years ago, mastering several percussion instruments in the process. He is a longstanding member of the Rhythm Room under bandleader Rick Morin and is a freelance musician and private lesson teacher. Seth’s method of teaching centers on passing down knowledge in a fun, interesting, and energetic fashion. Seth earned his BA in Philosophy from The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
