It’s been 10 years since AutoCAD was first introduced, and the software has undergone a full overhaul to make it faster, easier to use and more reliable.ABI Research estimates that the CAD/CAM market will reach $54.1 billion in 2018, growing at an annual rate of 5.9% to $63.2 billion in 2021.Autodesk’s growth has been driven primarily by two factors: the rising adoption of digital data and increased usage of virtual and augmented reality tools.Autodesk’s total addressable market in 2018 will grow to $61 billion, according to Gartner. The company aims to grow that market by nearly 50% in 2019, and the segment is forecast to grow an additional 20% in 2020 and 26% in 2021.Autodesk also introduced new features in AutoCAD 2023 to take the lead in this new generation of manufacturing.“Autodesk AutoCAD is the most trusted platform for designing, building, and managing all of the digital aspects of a manufacturing environment,” said Scott DiSiano, Autodesk executive vice president and general manager of CAD, Architecture & Engineering.“By incorporating the power of the cloud and AI, we are changing the way that everyone designs, builds and operates in the 21st century.”For years, Autodesk has built applications around the core areas of its business, such as BIM, PLM, CAE, and visualization.
