In-School Architecture Programs. For over ten years, SMARTS has offered member districts with in-school architecture programs funded by the Boston Foundation for Architecture and affiliated with Jan Ham, program director of Learning By Design in Massachusetts: A Children's Design Education Program of the Boston Society of Architects.

Programs from previous years

Deaf Arts Experience was an interdisciplinary arts program for Deaf students with ASL as part of the SMARTS Summer Institute. It allowed the students an opportunity to work under the guidance of professional artists in creative writing, dance, drama, music and visual arts.

Fall and Spring Showcase was an opportunity to introduce children, teachers, PTO's, and local Cultural Councils to a showcase of performers that use the arts to reinforce concepts in curriculum. This year we brought six performers - from musicians, solo performers, and ensemble troupes to Attleboro middle school. 700 children attended as well as invited PTO'S and local Council representatives from 10 towns. We will be having an elementary showcase in April at a Foxboro elementary school.
